MAKE THE RIGHT MOVE! |
|
The guiding philosophy of our practice is that the complete assessment and treatment of the patient is vital. We feel that determining a movement diagnosis is a key to efficient management of an injury. We strive to take into account all aspects of a patient’s condition, medical history, and goals. To complement such a detailed approach, patient education is stressed. We believe that the more a patient knows about how to address his/her rehabilitation, the more likely a complete recovery will be achieved. We want our patients to go away with the feeling that, not only has their injury been resolved or their condition improved, but that they are more knowledgeable about how their body works and reacts to the stresses they place upon it with activity, work, and everyday life. This philosophy of a complete movement (biomechanical) approach carries over into all of our services, including athletic performance enhancement, personal fitness, and worksite evaluation. |

What is a “movement diagnosis?”Our evaluation techniques are based on a process that leads to a Movement Systems Impairment Diagnosis. This is NOT a medical diagnosis. However, it can complement a medical diagnosis. A Movement Diagnosis is made by closely examining the precise movements of the whole body, testing strength and flexibility, assessing balance, and observing habitual movements. This type of diagnostic exam is new to physical therapy and allows the physical therapist to determine a more precise CAUSE of the problem, not just the symptoms. Our doctoral trained physical therapists determine the diagnosis that guides the treatment plan. Carrying out this plan may be assisted by licensed athletic trainers, massage therapists, or personal trainers under the direction of the physical therapist. CALL US FOR YOUR EXAM TODAY! |
